50's and 60's Rock And Roll Music

If you want to take part in a little history lesson about 50's and 60's rock and roll music then I suggest that you do a little bit of research about The British Invasion. Besides bands like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and The Kinks, other groups like The Yardbirds, The Animals and Them were making some huge hits. More importantly, you might want to read about a band called Cliff Richard and The Drifters, which is said to be the first group to record a rock and roll single in the U.K. Although rock and roll was being developed prior to the British Invasion period, it is safe to say that the U.K. artists made a huge impact on the states and helped mold rock and roll into what it sounds like today. The 50's and the 60's were a very crucial time for social change, and I think that rock and roll music had a lot to do with that as well.
