Hard Rock Music That Doesn't Hurt the Ears

hard rock musicI have always been a big fan of grunge because it has qualities similar to those of hard rock music, but it is also a style of music that has so many different variations. Alice in Chains, for example, has a very diverse sound palette that makes it difficult for one to put the band in a specific category. They are considered grunge, of course, because of the fact that they came out of Seattle during an influential time period when other bands had the same sound.

The funny thing about grunge is that you will find songs that are heavy and you will also find songs that are slow and layered with different acoustic sounds. At times, I have even compared some grunge songs to those that were written by singer-songwriter acts in the 60's and 70's. Basically, one must never forget that just because a band rocks out pretty hard, it does not mean that they don't have influences from other genres and styles.
